RCP-2-3 is a natural pectic polysaccharide derived from the unripe fruits of *Rubus chingii Hu.*. Structurally, it is composed of homogalacturonan (HG) and rhamnogalacturonan II (RG-II) domains. This polysaccharide has demonstrated efficacy in inhibiting intestinal lipid absorption, leading to a reduction in postprandial serum triglyceride accumulation and an increase in lipid excretion. Preclinical studies in mice have shown that RCP-2-3 can reduce weight gain and improve dyslipidemia, suggesting its potential application in both the food and pharmaceutical industries for managing obesity and related metabolic disorders.
