Drug intelligence / Profile preview
rcPMP is an **Escherichia coli-derived recombinant cyclic pyranopterin monophosphate** substrate replacement therapy developed by BridgeBio Pharma and Origin Biosciences for **molybdenum cofactor deficiency Type A**. It supplies exogenous cPMP, the missing biosynthetic precursor in MoCD Type A, which is converted in vivo to molybdopterin and then to the molybdenum cofactor required for normal molybdoenzyme function. The therapy was administered as a **daily intravenous infusion** in clinical use and trials, where treatment was associated with a marked reduction in mortality versus untreated patients. rcPMP has the same active moiety and biologic activity as **fosdenopterin**, but rcPMP itself is the recombinant non-salt, anhydrous form that preceded transition of patients to the approved synthetic salt product Nulibry.
