Overview

RD-IIT-001 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy targeting the CD84 antigen, developed by the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University. CD84, also known as SLAMF5, is a member of the signaling lymphocyte activation molecule (SLAM) family and is frequently overexpressed on the surface of leukemic blasts in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR specific for CD84, enabling these cells to recognize and eliminate CD84-positive malignant cells. RD-IIT-001 is primarily being investigated for the treatment of relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (R/R AML), a condition with a poor prognosis and limited therapeutic options.
