Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RD-LB is a long-acting recombinant protein and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) inhibitor developed by Lamark Biotech for the treatment of ophthalmological conditions, primarily neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD). The therapeutic is engineered using Lamark's proprietary protein kinetic extension platform, which is designed to significantly extend the half-life of biologics within the vitreous humor. By maintaining therapeutic levels of the drug for longer durations, RD-LB aims to reduce the treatment burden for patients by decreasing the required frequency of intravitreal injections compared to standard-of-care anti-VEGF therapies. The asset is currently being evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials to establish its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile in patients with nAMD.
