Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RD1433 is an investigational topical barrier cream developed by the Protective Products Division of Bracco Diagnostics Inc., a subsidiary of Bracco Healthcare. It is specifically designed for the prevention and treatment of incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD), a condition caused by prolonged skin exposure to urine or stool. RD1433 functions as a physical barrier agent, forming a protective film on the skin surface to shield it from moisture and chemical irritants. Clinical evaluations in human volunteers have demonstrated that a nominal film thickness of 0.1 mm provides protective efficacy for up to six hours. In comparative studies, RD1433 showed statistically significant improvements in skin function measures over white petroleum jelly (Vaseline) without causing measurable irritation.
