Overview

**RDD-0315** is an investigational topical gel formulation containing the alpha-agonist **oxymetazoline**, designed to treat **fecal incontinence** in patients with **spinal cord injury**. It works by contracting the smooth muscle of the **internal anal sphincter** through local alpha-adrenergic agonism, leading to a statistically significant reduction in incontinence episodes observed at 8 and 12 hours post-administration in a Phase 2a crossover study involving 19 patients.[1][3][6][10] Developed by **RDD Pharma**, it has received **FDA Fast Track** and **IND clearance** for US trials, **EU Orphan Drug Designation**, and a **$1.28M Department of Defense grant**; positive Phase 2a results support advancement to Phase 2b.[1][2][3][4][6][8]
