Overview

RDD-1219 is a topical formulation of the calcium channel blocker nifedipine delivered via a novel anatomically targeted drug-delivery system called Capository™, designed for anorectal application to treat chronic anal fissures. It works by relaxing the internal anal sphincter muscle to reduce pressure, thereby alleviating pain and promoting wound healing in this painful condition affecting anorectal tissue. Developed by RDD Pharma, an Israel-based company focused on gastrointestinal disorders, RDD-1219 has advanced through clinical development including a completed Phase 3 registration trial in Europe.[1][3][9]
