RDD-2007 is a repurposed small molecule drug candidate being developed by RDD Pharma for the treatment of radiation colitis and radiation proctitis. The therapeutic utilizes RDD Pharma's proprietary delivery technology, which is designed to optimize the local delivery of the active pharmaceutical ingredient to the affected anorectal and colonic tissues. Radiation proctitis is a common complication of pelvic radiation therapy for cancers such as prostate, cervical, and colorectal cancer, characterized by inflammation and damage to the rectal mucosa. RDD-2007 is currently in the preclinical stage of development, aiming to provide a targeted treatment option for patients suffering from radiation-induced gastrointestinal injury.
