Overview

RDSY1801 is an orally administered small molecule GPR119 agonist developed by Shanghai Dejian Conghe Biomedical Technology for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. GPR119 is a G protein-coupled receptor primarily expressed in pancreatic beta cells and intestinal enteroendocrine cells (L-cells). By activating this receptor, RDSY1801 enhances glucose-stimulated insulin secretion and triggers the release of incretin hormones, such as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP), which collectively improve glycemic control. The compound is designed to provide a glucose-dependent therapeutic effect, thereby minimizing the risk of hypoglycemia. As of early 2024, RDSY1801 is undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation in China to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile in both healthy volunteers and patients with type 2 diabetes.
