Overview

RDX02 is a preclinical-stage antimicrobial candidate developed by Infex Therapeutics (formerly part of Redx Pharma's anti-infective portfolio) for the treatment of life-threatening Gram-negative antimicrobial-resistant (AMR) infections. The drug is designed to target the Beta-barrel assembly machinery protein A (BamA), an essential component of the BAM complex responsible for the folding and insertion of outer membrane proteins into the bacterial cell wall. By inhibiting BamA, RDX02 disrupts the integrity of the outer membrane, leading to bacterial cell death. This novel mechanism of action is intended to address multi-drug resistant (MDR) pathogens, including *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*, *Acinetobacter baumannii*, and Enterobacteriaceae, which are frequently resistant to conventional antibiotic classes.
