RE-04-001

RE-04-001 is a preclinical-stage, biased small molecule agonist of formyl-peptide receptor-1 (FPR1). Originally developed by Pronoxis and subsequently transferred to its spinoff Inicure AB, the compound selectively activates FPR1 on immune cells (such as neutrophils) with an EC50 of approximately 1 nM. This activation stimulates the downstream NOX2/NADPH oxidase complex to generate reactive oxygen species (ROS), which serves as a natural mechanism for bacterial clearance and the resolution of inflammation. RE-04-001 is being investigated for the treatment of inflammatory, autoimmune, and infectious diseases, including antimicrobial-resistant (AMR) infections and urinary tract infections (UTI).
