Drug intelligence / Profile preview
realVESSEL is a xenotransplantation product under development by the Xenotherapeutics Foundation as part of its realTISSUES platform. It consists of genetically engineered porcine vascular tissue designed for use in human vascular repair and reconstruction. The product is derived from the same technological foundation as the company's lead candidate, Xeno-Skin (realDERMIS), which utilizes tissues from alpha-gal knockout (GalSafe) swine to minimize the risk of hyperacute rejection. realVESSEL is intended to serve as an off-the-shelf, biocompatible alternative to autologous vascular grafts or synthetic materials, providing a scaffold for vascular regeneration and structural support in patients requiring bypass surgery or other vascular interventions.
