REAURO002 is an ultra-long-acting injectable (ULAI) formulation of the atypical antipsychotic aripiprazole, developed by Reach Pharmaceuticals. Utilizing the proprietary REAURO technology platform, this formulation is designed to provide sustained therapeutic plasma concentrations over an extended period, targeting dosing intervals of every 2 to 4 months. Aripiprazole functions as a partial agonist at dopamine D2 and serotonin 5-HT1A receptors, while acting as an antagonist at 5-HT2A receptors. This mechanism helps stabilize dopamine and serotonin activity in the brain, making it effective for managing symptoms of schizophrenia and bipolar I disorder.
