Overview

ReaVen-P is a phytopharmaceutical gel developed by the Institute for Medicinal Plant Research "Dr Josif Pančić" in Serbia. It is a combination product formulated with liquid extracts of horse chestnut (*Aesculus hippocastanum*), ginkgo (*Ginkgo biloba*), and sweet clover (*Melilotus officinalis*). The gel is primarily indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with chronic venous insufficiency, such as heavy legs, swelling, pain, and cramps in the calves. Its mechanism of action involves the venotonic and anti-edematous effects of escin (from horse chestnut), which reduces capillary permeability by inhibiting enzymes like hyaluronidase. Additionally, ginkgo extracts improve local microcirculation, and sweet clover enhances lymphatic drainage through the action of coumarins.
