Overview

REBACIN is a proprietary antiviral biologic administered intravaginally as a noninvasive treatment for persistent high-risk human papillomavirus (hrHPV) infection. Clinical studies have demonstrated that REBACIN significantly increases the clearance rate of persistent hrHPV infections, including HPV16 and HPV18, compared to no treatment. Mechanistically, REBACIN acts by inhibiting the expression of viral E6 and E7 oncogenes in infected cervical epithelial cells. These oncogenes are critical for the development and maintenance of high-grade premalignant lesions and cervical cancer. In vitro, in vivo (mouse models), and clinical data consistently show that REBACIN suppresses E6/E7 expression at both mRNA and protein levels, leading to reduced tumor growth driven by these viral proteins. The drug has shown a favorable safety profile with no serious adverse effects reported[1][2][3][4][5].
