Overview

rebonuputemcel (IDCT) is an allogeneic, injectable, regenerative cell-based therapy developed by DiscGenics for the treatment of symptomatic, single-level, lumbar degenerative disc disease (DDD). The therapy consists of specialized progenitor cells, known as Discogenic Cells, which are derived from adult human intervertebral disc tissue and delivered in a sodium hyaluronate vehicle. IDCT is administered via a percutaneous intradiscal injection and is designed to address the underlying pathophysiology of DDD by promoting tissue regeneration and modulating the inflammatory environment within the disc, thereby alleviating chronic low back pain. The program has advanced into Phase 3 clinical development in the U.S. and has been granted SAKIGAKE designation in Japan to expedite its development and regulatory review.
