ReBOSSIS is a synthetic, bioresorbable bone graft substitute designed as a cotton-like scaffold to facilitate bone regeneration. Developed by ORTHOREBIRTH and utilized by Theradaptive, the scaffold is composed of silicated calcium carbonate, β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP), and polylactic acid (PLA). Theradaptive's lead programs, such as ORB-TR and ORB-SF, involve coating the ReBOSSIS scaffold with AMP2, a proprietary engineered variant of Bone Morphogenetic Protein-2 (BMP-2). This combination product leverages a high-affinity binding technology to ensure the localized, sustained release of the osteoinductive protein at the site of injury, minimizing systemic side effects while promoting rapid bone healing in indications like long-bone trauma and spinal fusion.
