Overview

REC602 is a recombinant bivalent human papillomavirus (HPV) prophylactic vaccine candidate developed by Jiangsu Recbio Technology that targets HPV types 6 and 11, the primary causative types for genital warts and other benign anogenital lesions. It is a genetically engineered subunit vaccine composed of virus-like particles (VLPs) produced in a Hansenula polymorpha yeast expression system, using a process route similar to Recbio’s 9‑valent HPV candidate REC603, and is formulated as an intramuscular vaccine for prevention of condylomata acuminata and related HPV 6/11 diseases.[1][3][5][10] Phase I clinical trials in China have been completed, with development positioned to serve both female and particularly male genital wart markets where existing prophylactic vaccines are not widely accessible.[1][3][5][10]
