REC604a is a novel adjuvanted recombinant quadrivalent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine candidate developed by Jiangsu Recbio Technology to prevent infections caused by HPV types 6, 11, 16, and 18, thereby reducing the incidence of cervical cancer and anogenital warts.[1][3][5][7][10] It uses recombinant L1 virus-like particles for the four HPV types formulated with Recbio’s proprietary BFA04 adjuvant (benchmarking GSK’s AS04) to enhance immunogenicity, improve cross-protection, and enable a reduced-dose vaccination regimen compared with existing HPV vaccines.[3][5][7] REC604a has completed preclinical studies and received clinical trial (IND) approval from China’s NMPA, with development focused on prophylactic use against HPV infection and related diseases.[1][2][4][5][6][10]
