Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RECALL-VAX RV03 is a preclinical, first-in-class, dual-acting therapeutic chimeric peptide vaccine developed by Intellect Neurosciences under its proprietary RECALL-VAX platform. It is designed to simultaneously elicit an immune response against both beta amyloid and delta tau, the two hallmark pathological proteins in Alzheimer's disease. The vaccine works by targeting unique molecular 'neoepitopes' formed during the cleavage of precursor proteins: specifically, the free amino terminus of amyloid beta at the beta secretase site and the free C-terminus of delta tau produced by executioner caspases. RV03 is in preclinical development for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and other neurological proteinopathies, with studies conducted in transgenic mouse models of Alzheimer's disease in collaboration with the University of California, Irvine.
