Recaticimab (SHR-1209) is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9). By binding PCSK9 with high affinity, it increases the level of low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) on liver cells, thereby reducing plasma low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). Recaticimab features an IgG1 protein subtype and incorporates YTE amino acid mutation technology to extend its half-life, allowing for flexible dosing intervals of every 4, 8, or up to 12 weeks. It is indicated for adult patients with primary hypercholesterolemia—including both heterozygous familial and non-familial forms—and mixed dyslipidemia who have not achieved target LDL-C levels despite moderate or high-intensity statin therapy. It can also be used as monotherapy in patients intolerant to statins. Developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine, recaticimab has demonstrated robust LDL-C reduction in phase 3 clinical trials as both add-on and monotherapy.
