Overview

Recatistimab (SHR-1916) is a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the T-cell immunoreceptor with Ig and ITIM domains (TIGIT), an inhibitory immune checkpoint receptor expressed on T cells and natural killer (NK) cells. TIGIT suppresses immune responses by binding to ligands such as CD155 (PVR) on antigen-presenting cells or tumor cells. Recatistimab acts as an antagonist, blocking the interaction between TIGIT and its ligands to relieve immunosuppression and enhance the anti-tumor activity of the immune system. Developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals, recatistimab is being evaluated in clinical trials for various solid tumors, frequently in combination with other immunotherapies like the PD-L1 inhibitor adebrelimab, to improve clinical outcomes in patients with advanced malignancies such as head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC).
