Overview

RECCE 327 is a synthetic broad-spectrum anti-infective and antibiotic developed by Recce Pharmaceuticals. It is designed to treat serious and potentially life-threatening infections caused by both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including multi-drug resistant "superbug" forms such as the ESKAPE pathogens (Enterococcus faecium, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacter species). The drug demonstrates rapid bactericidal activity, achieving 99.9% effectiveness against ESKAPE pathogens within minutes of exposure. Its mechanism of action includes irreversibly binding to essential bacterial proteins (protein inhibition) and disrupting cellular metabolism and energy production (depleting ATP). RECCE 327 kills bacteria rapidly without inducing cell lysis and maintains efficacy even with repeated use without promoting resistance. It can be administered intravenously or topically, with ongoing clinical development for various severe bacterial infections.
