Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RECELL (also known as the RECELL Autologous Cell Harvesting Device) is an FDA-approved, point-of-care autologous cell therapy and medical device system developed by AVITA Medical. It is designed to prepare a non-cultured autologous skin cell suspension (ASCS), also referred to as Regenerative Epidermal Suspension (RES) or Spray-On Skin Cells, from a small sample of the patient's own skin. The suspension contains a mixture of viable skin cells, including keratinocytes, melanocytes, and fibroblasts, which are sprayed directly onto prepared wound beds or depigmented lesions. RECELL is indicated for the treatment of acute thermal burns, full-thickness skin defects, and for the repigmentation of stable depigmented vitiligo lesions. By utilizing the patient's own regenerative cells, the system promotes rapid re-epithelialization, epidermal regeneration, and repigmentation while significantly reducing the donor skin area required compared to standard autografting.
