Recludix Pharma is developing a first-in-class small molecule BTK SH2 domain inhibitor for the treatment of various autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Unlike traditional BTK inhibitors that target the catalytic kinase domain, this molecule targets the Src homology 2 (SH2) domain of Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK). This approach is designed to provide exceptional selectivity, specifically avoiding the inhibition of TEC kinase, which is often associated with platelet dysfunction and bleeding risks in conventional BTK inhibitors. The drug is being developed as a prodrug and is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials for indications including chronic spontaneous urticaria, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and Sjögren's syndrome.
