Overview

ReCol 17 is a recombinant humanized Type XVII collagen (COL17A1) developed by Chuangjian Medical (Trautec). Type XVII collagen is a specialized transmembrane protein that plays a critical role in maintaining the niche of hair follicle stem cells (HFSCs) and melanocyte stem cells within the hair follicle bulge. The depletion of COL17A1, often associated with aging or DNA damage, leads to the miniaturization of hair follicles, resulting in hair thinning and premature graying. ReCol 17 is designed as a topical cosmetic ingredient for scalp application, aiming to restore the structural integrity of the hair follicle environment, promote scalp health, and stimulate hair growth. It is produced using high-density fermentation and purification processes to ensure high purity and biocompatibility for cosmetic and personal care applications.
