Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Recombigain is a human recombinant amelogenin therapy developed by Prudentix for hard and soft tissue regeneration in dentistry, specifically for treating tooth-supporting tissues lost to chronic periodontitis. The active ingredient is rAmelX, a highly purified human recombinant amelogenin produced in an *E. coli* expression system. Formulated as a patented, thermo-sensitive gel using poloxamer 407, Recombigain is liquid at refrigerated temperatures and transforms into a thick, viscous mucoadhesive gel at body temperature. It is applied topically in a single step as an adjunct to periodontal surgery. Amelogenin acts as an attachment factor and chemoattractant for mesenchymal stem cells, promoting their proliferation and differentiation to regenerate alveolar bone, periodontal ligament, connective tissue, and cementum.
