Recombinant bovine basic fibroblast growth factor (rb-bFGF) is a biologically active protein produced using recombinant DNA technology. It mimics the natural basic fibroblast growth factor derived from bovine sources and acts as a potent mitogen that stimulates cellular proliferation and differentiation. Its primary mechanism of action involves promoting tissue repair and regeneration by enhancing granulation tissue formation and epidermal regeneration. Clinically, rb-bFGF is used to accelerate wound healing in burns, donor sites, chronic dermal ulcers, oral mucositis induced by chemotherapy or radiotherapy, and skin ulceration associated with rosacea lesions[1][4][8]. The drug has demonstrated efficacy in reducing healing time for various wounds and improving overall wound quality[4].
