Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Recombinant coagulation factor VII variant is a recombinant protein therapeutic candidate being developed by Weiguang Biological Products. It is designed as an engineered variant of human coagulation factor VII (FVII), a vitamin K-dependent serine protease that initiates the extrinsic pathway of blood coagulation. Upon binding to its cofactor, tissue factor, the factor VII variant complex enzymatically cleaves and activates coagulation factors IX and X, ultimately leading to thrombin generation and fibrin clot formation. This therapeutic candidate is intended for the treatment or prevention of bleeding episodes in patients with bleeding disorders, such as hemophilia or congenital factor VII deficiency, and is currently in the research or preclinical stage of development.
