Recombinant collagen complex solution is an investigational biologic formulation consisting of recombinant humanized collagen (rhCol) designed for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia (AGA). Delivered to the scalp via microneedling, the solution acts as a bioactive scaffold that promotes the activation and proliferation of dermal papilla cells and improves the perifollicular microenvironment. The recombinant collagen, typically Type III or Type I, is produced through microbial fermentation (e.g., in yeast or E. coli) and is engineered to mimic the structural and functional properties of natural human collagen. By enhancing cell adhesion and signaling through integrin receptors, the treatment aims to stimulate hair follicle regeneration, prolong the anagen growth phase, and increase hair density and thickness. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials, such as those sponsored by Yan'an University Xianyang Hospital, to assess its safety and preliminary efficacy in patients with AGA.
