Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The Recombinant Hepatitis B Vaccine (CHO) is a biologic vaccine developed and manufactured by NCPC GeneTech (North China Pharmaceutical Genetech Biotechnology Co., Ltd.). It is produced using a recombinant DNA platform where Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells express the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg). The purified antigen is formulated with an aluminum hydroxide adjuvant to enhance immunogenicity. Upon intramuscular injection, the vaccine stimulates the host's immune system to produce specific anti-HBs antibodies, providing active immunity against infection by all known subtypes of the hepatitis B virus. It is approved in China for use in both pediatric and adult populations as part of standard immunization schedules.
