The recombinant HIV-1 clade B measles vaccine vector is an investigational viral vector vaccine developed by the Institut Pasteur for the prevention of HIV-1 infection. The vaccine utilizes the live-attenuated Schwarz strain of the measles virus (MV) as a delivery platform, which has been genetically engineered to express HIV-1 clade B antigens, typically including the Gag protein and segments of the Pol and Env proteins. By using the measles virus—a highly immunogenic vector with a proven safety profile in global pediatric vaccination—the vaccine aims to induce robust and long-lasting HIV-specific cellular (T-cell) and humoral (B-cell) immune responses. Clinical development has proceeded through Phase I trials (e.g., NCT00661154) to evaluate safety, reactogenicity, and immunogenicity in healthy adults.
