Overview

The **recombinant human CD22 monoclonal antibody** is a biologic therapy developed by **Shenzhen Longrui Pharmaceutical** (a subsidiary of **SinoMab BioScience**) for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, specifically **systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)**. It targets the **CD22** antigen (also known as Siglec-2), a transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on the surface of mature B lymphocytes. CD22 acts as an inhibitory co-receptor for B-cell receptor (BCR) signaling, and its modulation helps regulate B-cell activation, migration, and survival. By binding to CD22, this antibody aims to dampen the B-cell hyperactivity that characterizes SLE. It is closely related to the chimeric anti-CD22 antibody **suciraslimab (SM03)** but is designed as a fully recombinant human version to potentially improve safety and reduce immunogenicity. The drug has been evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials (e.g., CTR20130117) to assess its pharmacokinetics, safety, and preliminary efficacy.
