Overview

Helvetic BioPharma's recombinant human chorionic gonadotropin (rHCG) is a biosimilar recombinant protein currently in preclinical development for the treatment of infertility and use in assisted reproductive technology (ART). Produced using genetically engineered Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells, this biologic mimics the action of endogenous luteinizing hormone (LH) by binding to and activating the LH/hCG receptor (LHCGR). This activation induces final follicular maturation and triggers ovulation in women undergoing controlled ovarian hyperstimulation, while also supporting luteal function. As a recombinant product, it represents a high-purity alternative to urine-derived hCG.
