Overview

Recombinant human Club Cell 10 kDa Protein (rhCC10), also known as CG100 or recombinant human uteroglobin, is a biologic anti-inflammatory agent developed by Therabron Therapeutics. It is a recombinant version of the endogenous CC10 protein, which is primarily secreted by non-ciliated respiratory epithelial cells (club cells) and serves as a critical immunomodulator in the lung. rhCC10 acts by inhibiting phospholipase A2 (PLA2) and other inflammatory signaling pathways, thereby reducing the production of pro-inflammatory mediators. The drug is primarily being developed for the prevention of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) and chronic pulmonary insufficiency of prematurity (CPIP) in neonates with respiratory distress syndrome (RDS), typically administered via a single intratracheal dose. It has received FDA Fast Track and Orphan Drug designations for these indications and has also been explored for other respiratory conditions including asthma, sinusitis, and severe influenza.
