Recombinant human erythropoietin Fc fusion protein is a long-acting erythropoiesis-stimulating agent (ESA) being developed by Dongguan Taili Bioengineering for the treatment of renal anemia in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The drug is a biologic fusion protein consisting of human erythropoietin (EPO) linked to an immunoglobulin Fc fragment (IgG1). This fusion is designed to extend the in vivo half-life of EPO by utilizing the neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) recycling pathway, thereby reducing the frequency of administration compared to first-generation recombinant human EPO. It acts as an agonist of the erythropoietin receptor (EPOR), stimulating the JAK2/STAT5 signaling pathway to promote the proliferation and differentiation of erythroid progenitor cells into mature red blood cells. It is currently in Phase II clinical trials in China for patients undergoing hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis.
