Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Recombinant human lactoferrin + lysozyme oral solution is a plant-derived biologic combination therapy developed by Wuhan Healthgen Biotechnology (also known as Wuhan Heyi Biotechnology). The drug consists of two active ingredients: recombinant human lactoferrin (OsrhLF) and recombinant human lysozyme (OsrhLYZ), both produced using a proprietary rice endosperm cell bioreactor platform. It is designed to provide antimicrobial and mucosal defense activity in the gastrointestinal tract, specifically targeting infectious diarrhea caused by rotavirus in children aged 6 months to 5 years. The drug is administered orally for five consecutive days and is currently in Phase 2 clinical development in China, where it is classified as a Class 1 biological innovative drug.
