Recombinant human LH (Luteinizing Hormone) is a synthetic version of the naturally occurring hormone LH, produced using recombinant DNA technology. Natural LH plays a crucial role in reproductive processes, including ovarian follicular maturation, ovulation, and corpus luteum development in females, and testosterone production in Leydig cells in males. It exerts its effects by binding to and activating the Luteinizing Hormone/Choriogonadotropin Receptor (LHCGR). An LH superagonist, if developed, would theoretically bind to the LHCGR and elicit a maximal biological response greater than that achieved by the endogenous LH hormone. While recombinant human LH products (e.g., lutropin alfa) are available and function as agonists of the LHCGR, a specific drug identified as a "Recombinant human LH superagonist" with enhanced maximal efficacy has not been found in current pharmaceutical or widely publicized research contexts. The term "superagonist" is more commonly associated with LHRH (GnRH) agonists or IL-15 superagonists, which act on different targets.
