Recombinant human-like collagen silicone gel is a topical medical device developed by Giant Biogene (巨子生物) for the management and repair of scars, including hypertrophic scars and keloids. The formulation combines the occlusive properties of silicone gel with the biological activity of recombinant human-like collagen (HLC). Silicone gel works by creating a semi-permeable barrier that increases hydration of the stratum corneum, which in turn helps to downregulate fibroblast activity and modulate the production of pro-fibrotic cytokines like TGF-beta. The recombinant human-like collagen, produced via a proprietary synthetic biology platform, provides a biomimetic scaffold that supports skin tissue repair and healthy remodeling. This dual-action approach is designed to flatten, soften, and fade scars while improving skin texture and elasticity. It is primarily marketed in China as a Class II medical device under the Comfy and Collgene brands.
