Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Recombinant human lymphotoxin-alpha derivative (rhLTα-Da, also known as LT28-171) is a genetically engineered variant of human lymphotoxin-alpha (LTα, TNF-beta) that is missing 27 N-terminal amino acid residues. Developed by Shanghai Fudan-Zhangjiang Bio-Pharmaceutical, rhLTα-Da acts as an agonist of the tumor necrosis factor receptors TNFR1 (TNFRSF1A) and TNFR2 (TNFRSF1B). It was investigated in clinical trials in China, including Phase II studies, for the treatment of advanced or metastatic cancers, particularly esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and gastric adenocarcinoma, often in combination with chemotherapy regimens such as cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil. However, its clinical development has been discontinued.
