Recombinant human type III collagen absorbable hydrogel is a biomimetic scaffold designed for the repair of skin dermis and full-thickness skin defects. Produced via recombinant DNA technology, it utilizes a humanized sequence of type III collagen, which is the primary collagen type found in fetal skin and is critical for scarless wound healing and tissue elasticity. The hydrogel formulation provides a three-dimensional matrix that mimics the natural extracellular matrix (ECM), facilitating the adhesion, migration, and proliferation of fibroblasts and vascular endothelial cells. This promotes granulation tissue formation and re-epithelialization while maintaining a moist wound environment conducive to healing. It is being clinically evaluated by institutions such as the First Affiliated Hospital of Naval Medical University (Changhai Hospital) for its efficacy in accelerating the closure of complex skin injuries and improving the quality of dermal regeneration.
