Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GigaGen's recombinant intravenous immunoglobulin (rIVIG) is a novel polyclonal antibody therapeutic developed for the treatment of primary immunodeficiencies and recurrent infections. Unlike traditional IVIG products derived from human plasma, rIVIG is produced using proprietary single-cell technology that captures and recreates the complete antibody repertoires of millions of individual B cells from healthy vaccinated or convalescent donors. This recombinant approach allows for the creation of highly diverse, high-titer, anti-pathogen hyperimmune products with significantly higher potency and more consistent batch-to-batch quality than plasma-derived equivalents. By utilizing recombinant expression in the laboratory, the therapy eliminates the supply constraints and contamination risks associated with human plasma collection while providing passive immunity against a broad spectrum of pathogens, including viruses and bacteria.
