Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The recombinant lymphoma idiotype vaccine is an individualized **therapeutic cancer vaccine** developed at University Medical Center Freiburg for indolent B-cell lymphomas. Each patient-specific product contains recombinant Fab fragments representing the variable-region idiotype of the malignant B-cell clone's surface immunoglobulin, produced in *Escherichia coli*. Intradermal vaccination with adjuvanted recombinant Fab protein is intended to induce idiotype-specific humoral and T-cell immune responses against lymphoma cells; granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor was co-administered subcutaneously as an immune adjuvant in clinical studies. The program was evaluated in Phase I advanced B-cell lymphoma and Phase II indolent B-cell lymphoma studies, including follicular lymphoma.
