Overview

Recombinant murine interferon gamma is an E. coli-expressed, full-length, mature form of the mouse interferon gamma cytokine. It is a type II interferon produced by activated T-lymphocytes and natural killer cells, functioning as a key regulator of immune responses. The recombinant protein acts as a potent activator of macrophages, enhances antigen presentation, upregulates MHC class I and II molecules, and acts through the interferon gamma receptor (IFNGR1, IFNGR2), which initiates JAK-STAT signaling cascades. Biological activities include antiviral, antimicrobial, antitumor (anti-proliferative), and immunomodulatory effects. It is used primarily for research applications in studying immune regulation, infection control, and cancer biology in mouse models[1][3][5][7].
