Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Recombinant Rabies Monoclonal Antibody is an approved biologic developed by StarBio for rabies post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP). It is a recombinant monoclonal antibody designed to neutralize the rabies virus by specifically binding to the rabies virus glycoprotein. This binding prevents the virus from attaching to and entering host cells, thereby providing immediate passive immunity following potential exposure to the virus. In clinical practice, it is typically administered as part of a standard PEP regimen, which includes wound cleaning and the administration of a rabies vaccine to ensure both immediate and long-term protection against the disease.
