This is a combination of two COVID-19 vaccines: - The recombinant SARS-CoV-2 S-Trimer vaccine is a protein subunit vaccine that uses a trimeric form of the spike (S) protein from the SARS-CoV-2 virus, produced using recombinant DNA technology. It aims to induce an immune response by presenting the spike protein to the immune system, leading to antibody and T-cell responses against the virus. - The inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine consists of whole virus particles that have been chemically or physically inactivated so they cannot cause disease but still stimulate an immune response. This approach exposes the immune system to multiple viral antigens. Both components are designed for active immunization against COVID-19 caused by infection with SARS-CoV-2. The combination may be used for enhanced or broader protection, leveraging different mechanisms of antigen presentation.
