Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Recombinant soluble human tissue factor (rshTF) is an investigational biologic drug developed by Henogen s.a. to promote local hemostasis and bone consolidation. It is a recombinant, soluble (non-membrane-bound) form of human tissue factor, a transmembrane glycoprotein that normally initiates the extrinsic coagulation cascade by binding to coagulation Factor VII/VIIa. By activating this pathway locally, rshTF is intended to accelerate bone healing and consolidation. It has been evaluated in Phase II clinical trials for patients undergoing bilateral sagittal split osteotomy (BSSO) of the mandible, where it was applied in combination with a bone substitute (Bio-Oss) to treat mandibular deformities and bone defects.
