A recombinant protein subunit vaccine developed by Olymvax Biopharmaceuticals for the prevention of *Staphylococcus aureus* infections. The vaccine is currently in Phase 3 clinical development, specifically targeting the prevention of surgical site infections in patients undergoing orthopedic procedures such as closed fracture internal fixation. The formulation is composed of five recombinant antigens: a mutant alpha-hemolysin (Hla-H35L), a mutant staphylococcal enterotoxin B (SEB-L45R/Y89A/Y115A), manganese transporter protein C (MntC), and the two components of Panton-Valentine leukocidin (LukS-PV and LukF-PV). These antigens are selected to induce neutralizing antibodies against key virulence factors and surface proteins, thereby inhibiting bacterial adhesion, nutrient acquisition, and toxin-mediated host cell lysis. The vaccine is typically administered via intramuscular injection and utilizes aluminum hydroxide as an adjuvant to enhance the immune response.
