The recombinant therapeutic hepatitis B lentiviral vector is a non-integrative lentiviral vector designed as a therapeutic vaccine for chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. It functions by delivering genetic material encoding HBV antigens, such as core, preS1, or large HBsAg, into host cells. This process aims to stimulate the host's immune system, specifically T-cells, to mount a robust and specific immune response against HBV-infected hepatocytes and viral antigens. The ultimate goal is to deplete HBV-positive hepatocytes and reduce or eliminate serum Hepatitis B surface Antigen (HBsAg), leading to a potential functional cure for chronic hepatitis B. This therapeutic approach has been developed through a collaborative effort involving Fudan University, Changzhi People's Hospital, Université de Paris Cité, Jinwei Biotechnology, Henzhun Biotechnology, and TheraVectys S.A.
