Overview

Recombinant tumor necrosis factor-thymosin alpha 1 fusion protein is a recombinant fusion protein composed of the human pro-inflammatory cytokine tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFalpha) and the immunostimulatory peptide thymosin alpha 1 (Ta1). This fusion protein possesses potential immunomodulatory and antineoplastic activities. The TNFalpha moiety is designed to induce an immune response, leading to apoptosis, tumor cell death, tumor vascular destruction, and tumor necrosis. Concurrently, the Ta1 moiety interacts with various Toll-like receptors (TLRs), which promotes the production of various cytokines and enhances both innate and adaptive immune responses against tumor cells. It is considered a TNFR modulator and has shown efficacy in neoplastic diseases.
